May 8th, 2012 - Canaan Fair Speedway Race Recap
The Papa Z’s Pro Stocks ran a pair of Twin 30 lap features. The first round was a rough and tumble event as racers tried to shake off the cobwebs from their winter rest. The caution flag flew immediately after the green flag dropped as Joey Laquerre rolled to a stop in turn two. Laquerre re-fired and then headed for the pits to make a driver change as he had surgery to repair a hernia this past Monday, and turned the car over to ACT hotshoe, Joey Polewarcyk. Pole raced from the rear of the thirteen car field to claim the top spot in a caution filled segment number one. Sulo Burbank rolled home second, followed by Walt Hammond, Keith Patnode and Dave Davis. The second segment was a complete opposite of the first round as only one caution slowed the event as Walt Hammond picked up the hard fought victory over double bridesmaid, Sulo Burbank, Joey Pole, Ricky Bly and Dave Davis. There was a three way tie for the overall winner for the night. The tie was broken based on the higher finish in the second segment. Walt Hammond took the overall win, followed by Burbank, Pole, Bly and Davis. Heat wins earlier in the night went to Dave Davis and Jeremy Davis. |
